Ride the Sandy River Railroad - Revised Edition DVD

Take a ride back in time on one of America's favorite narrow gauge railroads.
For more than fifty years, Franklin County, Maine enjoyed the best two foot railroad gauge in the country. The Sandy River Railroad was started in the late 1870'2. After numerous mergers and consolidations in reached its peak by World War I with sixteen engines scurrying over its 113 mile system.
The onset of the Depression and gasoline engines brought about its sudden death in 1935. Fortunately a group of rail enthusiasts was frequenting the line near the end and documenting all they could before its untimely demise.
This historic film with captions is a look back in time at the Sandy Lane as recorded by some of these young men.
The "Revised Edition" includes never before seen footage of the dismantling of this historic line.

Running time: 38 Minutes.
