In 17 Women Who Shook The World, Preethi Burkholder illuminates the journeys of visionary, game-changers and provides beacons of inspiration, success secrets, and practical advice for all who wish to follow." - A'Lelia Bundles, author of On Her Own Ground: THe Life and Times of Madam C. J. Walker.

About the author:
Preethi Burkholder inspires women, men, and children to achieve their dreams, find success, and lead meaningful lives. As a girl, she attended St. Bridget's Convent in Sri Lanka, a leading all girl's school that also produced the world's first female Prime Minister. Her school motto was "gently but firmly," a trait that Preethi embraces in her own life to this day. Upon receiving a scholarship, she moved to the United States to pursue a college education in 1993. She has a Master's Degree in Ethnomusicology from Tufts University, Massachusetts.
Preethi's mantra is "no one can make you feel less than beautiful about yourself, unless you let them." She leads a colorful life and wears several hats as an author, classical pianist, humanitarian worker, professional speaker, college professor, daughter, wife, and mother. Her favorite part of the day is spending time with her children.

Preethi has also presented programs centered around her books as part of the Colorado Railroad Museum's Colorado Rails and Cocktails lecture series.
